Scanlaser
Scanlaser is the preferred supplier for machine control solutions in the UK and offers an end to end service from initial consultation and evaluation through to installation, training and support. Scanlaser UK ensures that your specific needs are met by supplying the right technology from leading brands you can trust, including Leica, Mikrofyn, SBG, Cable Detection and others. Scanlaser UK promotes awareness and knowledge of the products, whilst working to advise on the best solution for every customer.
Starting out as a Swedish, family owned company, the first steps in the global expansion of Scanlaser were realised in May 2006 when Leica Geosystems acquired the Scanlaser group of companies in Sweden, Norway and Poland. Scanlaser had been operating in these countries for over 20 years, building up a well deserved reputation as the provider of choice for machine control solutions based on their closeness to the customer, the knowledge of their needs and the trust that this generates.
The Scanlaser distribution channel has since been further expanded with the establishment of Scanlaser UK, the subsequent acquisition of the specialised French distribution company Topolaser, and the establishment of independent Scanlaser companies in Finland, the Middle East, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
Further expansion of the Scanlaser organisation will continue throughout Europe bringing specialised and experienced teams to the sales process as well as the provision of support and service to the construction machinery market.
Scanlaser companies are either dedicated legal entities in their own right, agents of the Hexagon group or a trading activity of another Hexagon company. In all cases they are dedicated to providing a "best in class" service ensuring that they deliver the right solution to our customer?s specific needs in this specialised market.
Hexagon Machine Control Division
Hexagon Machine Control Division ("HMC") is a management and distribution umbrella within the Hexagon group under which all the activities, including product development and dedicated distribution of the machine control division take place.
HMC was created with the specific aim of giving the divisional management the maximum freedom to focus on the machine control market; with the ability to define product roadmaps, assign product and business development projects and develop a dedicated distribution network that would ensure delivery of systems and solutions to the market in a timely fashion. HMC headquarters are based in the UK and the division is lead by it's President Mark Concannon.
Hexagon Machine Control Division was created with the specific aim of bringing together the specialised skills and expertise, including product development and dedicated distribution, under a single integrated management structure.
This ensures that the construction industry has the reassurance of being able to access world class technologies backed by reliable support from proven suppliers that will enable their machines to achieve greater productivity and performance.
In addition to the expansion of the Scanlaser distribution chain, the machine control portfolio has been strengthened considerably by the acquisition of major specialist manufacturing companies in the machine automation market. These parts of Hexagon Machine Control have become more interdependent while building on their individual strengths and competences.
This includes the development of new solutions that use dedicated GPS/TPS sensors, designed specifically for the harsh civil engineering environment machine control market from Leica Geosystems; new generation, modularised control systems from Mikrofyn, who continue to manufacture and sell their own brand of lasers and innovative software packages from SBG.
